Sisterhood

A few weeks ago, I shared the most precious sister exchange with a friend as we kept vigil with mamas in both of our families who were in labor. Over the years, she and I have walked side by side through so many similar challenges and triumphs, taking turns lifting each other with compassion and grace…and receiving with humility. When we discovered these impending births were lining up on the same day, it seemed natural. Well, of course!

She and I spent hours together on ZOOM during Covid lockdowns talking about how we were growing personally and spiritually, and about the kind of womanhood our world needs. These conversations were where the Honest Heart idea took seed - supportive community for women through shared travel experiences, inspiration and resources.

Every relationship is an inside job. It starts with our own perspective of ourselves and demands a constant journey of self-awareness and consecration. How we see ourselves affects how we see others and the kind of energy we give to our relationships. This idea is behind our travel programs - bringing women together, unplugged from every day life, to invest in themselves so that they bring the world a positive, healing force. Peace, freedom, clarity, joy - these are pretty powerful things!

Oh, and by the way, those babies missed sharing a birthday by just 30 minutes, but their grandmothers now have a whole other layer of life to share!
